Rele Gallery for the exhibition Her Gaze: A Woman’s Truth

During my visit to Rele Gallery for the exhibition Her Gaze: A Woman’s Truth, I was deeply inspired by the range of narratives and emotions expressed by the women artists involved. The show focused on the female gaze, giving space to perspectives that are often overlooked or misunderstood. Each artwork explored themes such as identity, memory, strength, and vulnerability, using different mediums to speak personal and collective truths.

This felt especially relevant to my own creative work, where I explore space as a reflection of cultural and emotional experience. The exhibition made me reflect on how interiors and visual language can become tools for visibility, empowerment, and healing, particularly for Black women and marginalised communities.

Her Gaze encouraged me to continue designing spaces and outcomes that honour complexity, speak truthfully, and hold space for stories that deserve to be seen and heard.
